Physical Requirements

• Walking is required. Some locations require walking in (or up) to the vantage point (noted below).

• Shooting is done at night, in the early morning and at sunset. 

• Mid-day we are indoors - sleeping, eating or training on Lightroom. 

• March, April and May have relatively mild temperatures (< 100F). 

Physical Requirements for Specific Locations

Note: All locations are near sea level - except for the Racetrack Playa which is at 3,700 ft elevation.

• RACETRACK PLAYA - 30 mile drive in a BUMPY 4x4 vehicle - then we park next to the Racetrack. We walk about 1/4 mile on the racetrack. There is no restroom at the racetrack.

• BADWATER - 1 mile walk in - and back. This is the longest walk - It is optional.

• ARTISTS DRIVE/PALETTE - 1/8 mile walk

• MESQUITE FLAT SAND DUNES - We do not walk into the sand dunes, we shoot it from the edge with longer lenses. 1/4 Mile.

• ZABRISKIE POINT - 1/8 walk up to the look out point.

• TWENTY MULE TEAM CANYON - Mostly shooting near the car - but we walk 20-30 yards up some of the cliffs - multiple times.

• UBEHEBE CRATER - Drive to location

NOTE: WE TRAVEL WITH A GARMIN SATELLITE COMMUNICATOR,
WHICH ALLOWS US INSTANT ACCESS TO EMERGENCY SERVICES
EVEN WHEN THERE IS NO CELL SERVICE AVAILABLE.
